Trish Corbett and Michael Mannion are the co-founders of The Mindshift Institute, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, which has produced scores of events since 1999. They have also made many presentations at the invitation of other organizations, such as the Center for Psychology and Social Change in Cambridge, Massachusetts; Friends of the Institute of Noetic Sciences in New York, and member groups of the Institute of Noetic Sciences in California, Connecticut and Massachusetts. They produced an annual Mindshift conference series called Cosmos and Consciousness for 10 years from 2003 until 2012. And from 2009-20012, they ran The Mindshift Institute's Center for New Knowledge in Northampton, Massachusetts.
Trish Corbett was the Vice-President of the Friends of the Institute of Noetic Sciences (FIONS) for seven years, the New York City affiliate of the Institute of Noetic Sciences. She was also a board member of the Anomalous Phenomena Research Center. She participated in a Tarot laboratory for 10 years, led by Rachael Pollock. Ms. Corbett is a graduate of the IM School of Healing Arts which she attended for five years. She had been a practitioner of Wholeness Healing which combines energy healing with her own technique called Life Symbols. The goal of her work was to help individuals open to deeper self-understanding and to augment health, balance and well-being. In her earlier career, for 16 years, she was the owner and President of Griswold and Bateman, a distribution corporation which operated 450,000 sq. ft. in the Port of New York and New Jersey.
Michael Mannion has been a professional writer and editor for over 40 years, focusing on medicine, health, and new science.
Mr. Mannion was formerly the Director of Professional Education Publications for the American Cancer Society and the Managing Editor of the society’s flagship publication Ca-A Cancer Journal for Clinicians. At the time, it had the largest circulation of any medical magazine in the world. He has been a staff writer for the New York City Health Department and also has written for many major conventional and complementary health organizations, practitioners, and medical publishing companies. He has worked as a ghostwriter and editor on a number of physician-authored books. He has given many talks over the years, most recently, as a keynote speaker for the US Association for Bodypsychotherapy, delivering a talk on the work of Wilhelm Reich.
Mr. Mannion now edits and writes articles for the Journal of The Mindshift Institute (www.mindshiftinstitute.org). He is the author of A Maverick’s Odyssey – One Doctor’s Quest to Conquer Disease; The Pharmacist’s Guide to Over-the-Counter and Natural Remedies; How to Help Your Teenager Stop Smoking; and Project Mindshift – The Re-Education of the American Public Concerning Extraterrestrial Life. He has also published three novels, Death Cloud; Colleen; and Erin's Daughters.
